I offer UK-wide postal delivery from my little home bakery in Leeds, Yorkshire. Available delivery destinations are confirmed at checkout.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to offer international shipping at the moment.

Not currently, I’m sorry!

My cookies are baked fresh and are best enjoyed within 3–5 days of arrival, although you should always follow the best-before date and storage instructions on your packaging.

To keep them at their best, store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Absolutely! Most of my cookies freeze beautifully.

Pop them into an airtight, freezer-safe container or bag, ideally individually wrapped, and freeze as soon as possible to preserve their freshness.

Defrost thoroughly before enjoying, and always check the product's individual storage instructions, as some flavours or fillings may have different requirements.

Yes! Brown Butter Bakes is a registered home food business in Leeds.

I hold Level 2 Food Safety and allergen training certifications, maintain food safety management procedures and allergen documentation, and have public liability insurance.

I also work as a registered dietitian and have spent many years working in hospitality, so food safety is something I take incredibly seriously.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that.

I take great care packaging every order to protect your bakes during their journey, but occasionally parcels can have a rather rough ride.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact me within 24 hours of delivery where possible, including your order number and clear photographs of the damaged cookies and packaging.

I'll review what has happened and work with you to find an appropriate resolution.

Because my cookies are freshly baked, perishable food products, I cannot accept returns or exchanges simply because you've changed your mind.

Once an order has been confirmed, cancellations or changes cannot normally be accommodated, as ingredients and production are planned around each weekly drop.

However, if your order arrives damaged, is incorrect, or there is a problem with the quality of your bakes, please contact me as soon as possible with your order details and photographs.

I'll assess the issue fairly and arrange an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.

Some of them, yes! I'm a huge believer in sharing knowledge rather than gatekeeping it.

Have a nosey at my Recipes section for recipes to try at home, my Tools page for practical tools and educational resources, and my YouTube channel and Baking Perfect podcast for baking science, experiments, recipe development and home bakery advice.

Whether you're baking for fun or dreaming of starting your own business, there's plenty for you here!

How do I place an order?

1

Easy peasy! My online shop is restocked every Sunday at 10am, with orders closing at 12pm on Wednesday (or earlier if I sell out).

Simply choose your cookies, add them to your basket and check out through the website. Everything is made in small batches, so once they're gone, they're gone until the next restock!

How long do your cookies last?

Can I choose a specific delivery date?

Brown Butter Bakes is registered with the local authority and operates in accordance with the food safety requirements applicable to my business, however I am at present still awaiting my official food hygiene inspection.

Once orders have closed at 12pm on Wednesday, I bake and pack your cookies fresh each week, ready to be posted on Friday for delivery on Saturday. All postal orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24, which aims to deliver the next day. Please bear in mind this is not a guaranteed service, and occasional postal delays are outside my control.

You'll receive tracking information so you can follow your precious cargo on its journey!

Delivery costs are displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase. All postal orders are sent using Royal Mail Tracked 24, and you will receive a tracking number, so you can keep an eye on your cookies as they make their way to you.

Do your cookies contain allergens?

My order hasn't arrived. What should I do?

Unfortunately, no. As a small-batch home bakery, I work to a weekly baking and dispatch schedule rather than offering individually selected delivery dates.

My cookies are posted on Fridays with Saturday delivery in mind, but please don't order for an occasion where arrival on a particular day is absolutely essential, as Royal Mail Tracked 24 is not guaranteed.

Yes. I regularly work with ingredients containing gluten, milk, eggs, soya, nuts, peanuts and other allergens in my home kitchen.

Full ingredient lists and allergen information are provided on individual product listings and packaging, so please read these carefully before purchasing.

Although I take allergen management and food safety extremely seriously, my kitchen is not allergen-free and I cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contact.

If you have a severe food allergy, my products may not be suitable for you. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any ingredient questions before ordering.

First, please check the tracking information provided by Royal Mail. Occasionally parcels experience delays, particularly during busy postal periods.

If your tracking hasn't updated or your order appears to be missing, please get in touch with your order number and I'll help investigate.

A little bit of love, a lot of butter and a frankly ridiculous amount of recipe testing!

With my background in food science and dietetics, I'm utterly fascinated by the why behind baking. I'm also an obsessive recipe developer, and every cookie on my menu has been through multiple rounds of testing, tweaking and tasting before it earns its place in your box.

I use high-quality ingredients, my signature brown butter dough and a combination of science, creativity and good old-fashioned intuition to create cookies with interesting flavours, gorgeous textures and plenty of personality.

Nothing is rushed, nothing is mass-produced, and every recipe is crafted with an enormous amount of care. My philosophy is simple: use science to inform the process, creativity to make it exciting, and taste to make the final decision!
